SAPB1 Fixed Asset Appreciation (reduce depreciation) or negative depreciation

Hi All,

We have imported fixed assets from the legacy system and trying to match the accumulated depreciation figures. We can use unplanned depreciation to increase the depreciation. However, there is no way to reduce the depreciation amounts since manual depreciation does not allow negative values. Also under manual depreciation - option appreciation - only available if you have already posted unplanned depreciation thus to reduce the opening depreciation this cannot be used

The idea is for the assets to be charged with the purchase value and then to record the global depreciation value carried by the asset at the date of the charge, through special repayments, and then finally make the adjustments.

Problem is when converting legacy assets, depending on the specifics of the two systems involved, variances arise for accumulated depreciation. In order to match the balance sheet values with asset register often you have to create adjustments up or down. This is the fundamental requirement. Once the assets start to depreciate under normal SAP what ever the system is providing is sufficient.

Hi. Have you been able to resolve this issue? I've tried using the appreciation and revaluation screens and have not been able to accomplish this.
