Make tax digital (MTD) reporting UK

Hi all,

We are today reporting VAT manually in S_ALR_87012357 for UK. What changes are we needed to do from April 2019 with MTD – Making Tax Digital?

  • Will VAT reporting be totally digital so SAP will need to be connected direct to HMRC?

    • In case, will we report the same as in S_ALR_87012357 or more information?
  • Is it SAP´s functionality FOTV (Configuration guide “UK VAT Return, Configuration guide for SAP E-filing Solution”) that we need to setup?

    • If so could anyone guide?

Thanks in advance!

KR L

    hi

If you are on S/4HANA, refer the SAP Note 2682182. There is an ACR Solution in progress to help with the required updates.

    • Thanks Sanil! Unfortunately we are not on S/4 HANA. I have also found that note but cannot find anything if you´re not on S/4. Is there no solution if not S/4 from SAP´s side? The only thing I found searching on MTD and SAP is that note for S/4 so that´s why I wonder how we that are not can solve the requirement.

    • Thanks Armin, I saw that now (not so detailed though). Is then SLH ACR Service the only solution for this purpose and every customer need to have that?

FOTV (Configuration guide “UK VAT Return, Configuration guide for SAP E-filing Solution”) is not anything that we can use?

    Hi Pankaj,

I have talked to SAP and found information in note 2679399. I think everything will be solved by instructions when signing SLH ACR.

    Kind Regards Lisa

    Dear All,

if I've understood properly both ECC and SAP S/4 will use only the SLH ACR service but could be possible to have the chance to use also an external provider?

    Best regards

It looks like we'll have to take some of the original creations for other RTI and make our own for ECC for MTV!

We are located in USA and have presence in UK as well. We are in the process of implementing MTD solution. One of the consulting company located in UK told us that there is no SAP solution yet and they have their own solution which they have tested with HMRC.

Have you implement SAP solution for MTD-UK?

Have you implement non SAP solution/third party solution?

I would appreciate your prompt response.

    Cheers

    Tahir

    • The SAP solution is released and is recognised by HMRC as software supporting Making Tax Digital. The solution for our ECC customers is SAP Localization Hub advanced compliance reporting service (SLH ACR Service). Please refer to OSS note 2679399 and also KBA 2749456.

    Hello
I've the same problem. We've a small branch company in UK (10 people) which runs remotely SAP ERP 6.00 EHP07, from its Main Italian company. I'm looking for a solution for MDT-UK, but I suppose that main SAP solution and other SAP based solution are too expensive for us.
Can somebody suggest a third part solution, easy to setup and not very expensive ?
    Thanks for your reply.

Hello everybody, same situation of claudio luca and tahir. Apart of the connector provider, is it clear that the output to be packed and sent to hmrc is the vat100 tax report? In that case we are thinking to generate it in sap ecc and then find something to turn it i to the expected json format and call the hmrc API. But the origin is the vat100? We don’t find any detail on it and we are not experts of uk tax law.

    Have a nice day, stefano

    • Hi Stefano
I'm in the same situation. I've set OSS notes to create Structure VG_CUST to store teh customizing and later I've customized it using my VAT elements defined in OSS note 2728767. But now I don't know exactly which is the report to use to produce the data to use in "9 boxes" schema. Regarding the SW which use HMRC API's to to trasmit the file there's many very cheap solutions, but as you wrote teh main probel is Which Report to use to produce the file ? I'd like to keep in touch for this matter, if you want please write to claudiocarrara@scame.com.
