Hi levelhead2005

SAP have a very big World to learn. It's difficult to list all the things that you can start learn. When i started with SAP i had 3 years of experience in java. A good way to you start is in list below:

- Web Dynpro: framework develop by SAP to develop web application. It concetp very hard componentization. Use java a lot, but in union of web dynpro API (in java). This is a high level development concept.

- Composite Application Framework (CAF) - If you know EJB, this is going to be very similiar, but a high level develop. Actually, is an EJB. But in a different way to develop

- Mobile: Very good framework to develop mobile application.

This two tecnologies, i think is the main tecnologies which you can develop codes with java. There are a lot of another like Visual Composer, Business Process Management (BPM), Guide Procedures(GP) and others...

You can find in SDN a lot of material about this topics.

All the best

Marcos and Sri.. Thanks for the prompt response

I am experienced in both web and enterprise Java. From your posts and what I found in my research,I see Web DynPro is a good module to start with and I see Web DynPro,being a web UI module, is a part of SAP EP.

I need further assistance with the following

1. I need SAP access to practice Web DynPro.I wanna know how to setup Dev environment and where to get the software for educational/learning purpose..links will be helpful..

do I need to buy a remote SAP Netweaver server as well..Right pointers will be appreciated..

2. When I checked teh SAP site, their training catalog mentions the following modules relating to Java.I am using these just as a ref. for what to learn. Seems like 3,4,5 below are more relevant to Java.Seems like Web DynPro is the first one to start coz I see it most prevalently appearing in job posts as well.

I am in Maryland,USA..I did not find any SAP labs near by in east coast.Being new, I am not sure whom to approach for training..googling does not help much .or in general do you suggest any training resources relating to the following SAP training catalog.

Hi levelhead2005

About the course and trainning:

- NetWeaver Composition Enviroment

here you are going to understand all the NetWeaver platform, at least the main components.

There are an on-line trainning very good - OCE71_73 OKP SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1

- WebDynpro

some trainnigs that you have post in web dynpro are presential, like JA100, JA300, JA310 and others.

i make three of this trainnings, JA310, JA320 AND JA331

- J2SE, JEE if you have experience, isn't necessary.

This e-learnigs and trainning are about the old version of NetWeaver(7.0). Now we are in version 7.1.

There some considerable changes in this versions, however help so much in new version.

In this link you can get all the necessary software to begin your development. This is a trial version, expire in 90 days:
