Hello all,
We are using the Universal Worklist on the Portal for both workflows through ECC and outside of ECC. The problem is the users who will be using UWL for ECC workflow has a logon and password in ECC so UWL works fine.
But for the portal users who will be using UWL for other workflows do not have logon and passwords for ECC. Whenever they open UWL they get an error saying "An error occured while trying to connect to the provider", when drilling in further the error is "Exception type:com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.connect.ConnectorException Message:Wed Jul 08 18:36:43 EDT 2009
(Connector) :com.sap.portal.connectivity.destinations.PortalDestinationsServiceException:User is missing credentials for connecting to alias SAP_R3_Workflow. Contact your system administrator."
Is there any way we can not display this error to non ECC users? Or so it does not try to make the connection to ECC?
Thank you in advance
The error that you are getting can be caused because of multiple reasons. If you have already checked the obvious , and I see multiple people responses in the forum. Here is my tip.
Go ahead and check if the u201CGROUPu201D you specified in the system object matches to the group that is active/exists in u201CSMLGu201D in your backend system , and try once again.
Thanks,
Uday

Hi Michael,
One solution is to have two UWL views. For the users that don't have ECC system access then give them the UWL without the ECC system configured. The idea of the portal is that it is role based so only display to users what then need. You can use various techniques to achieve this (e.g. merging etc...).
Hope this helps,
Simon
