MRP Run not creating Purchase Requisitions

Dear Experts,

In our client, on creation of Sales Quotation for Finished Goods, system creates Production Order. The Production Order showing the child components in the component overview.

All the components having the MRP type as PD. In MD04 all components are showing the requirement with the Production Order. But now on execution of MRP in MD02 (single item multi level) for the Finished Goods Material, system not creating Purchase Requisitions for the child components. Where as if we execute MRP for individual components in MD03, then it is creating Purchase Requisitions.

Please let's know the possible reasons to overcome this issue.

Check the dependent requirements field in MRP 4 view for the Assembly or FG whose Compoenents are not getting planned.

Thank you very much for your reply. Checked the MRP 4 view for the FG. Out of all the fields in the MRP 4 view only Individual/Coll field is filled with value 2 (Collective requirements only) rest are blank.

Is this okay / What exactly the values should be there in MRP4 view.

Also the field MRP dependent Requirements is blank. Hence the Dependent components must be planned as such. Also there is no entry in the planning file for all these components. But when we execute MRP for individual components in MD03, then it is creating purchase requisitions.

Dear Ramakrishna,

Manually creat planning file entries in MD20

then run MRP & check the result

as ur saying u cannot find planning file entries

then creat manually in MD20

this should solve ur problem

I have created Planning file entries manually and executed the MRP. But of no use. Only if I run MRP for the individual compoents in MD03, it is creating Purchase Requisition.

Any other clues please

Hi,

Check for the below points,

As per you that the MRP views of the material master are maintained fine, with the Planning type relevant for MRP (PD)

If you are using MRP groups, please check if the settings are fine at OPPR.

Check if the material(s) have got the Planning file entry u2013 through MD21 / If needed, set up the planning file through MD20 or MDAB

Check if Plant parameters are set up fine in OPPQ

Alternatively, check running Regenerative MRP once (Processing key u2018NEUPLu2019) in MD01

Check u2018Activate MRP Areasu2019 is u2018tickedu2019; If yes, please check if your plant has an entry as the MRP area(as MRP area type 01-Plant)

HI,

Looks like you are using assembly planning startegies.

Did you maintain the relevant Mixed MRP setting in MRP 3 view.

Hi All,

Thank you to all. Executed MRP in MD02 by selecting "Also Plan Unchanged Components". Then it is creating Purchase Requisitions for the Child Components.

As such system supposed to create Purchase requisitions for child components also as there is Plan relevant change due to the Production Order requirement. Any clues, why purchase requisitions are created only on selecting the above check box?
