All MONO Prompts and Parameters changed to MULTI

Hi experts,

Good day.

In our recent Universe maintenance release, a strange thing happened. Strange to me at least.
All the prompts and parameters defined at DFX/BLX that were supposed to be "Mono", changed to "Multi". The ones that were meant to be Multi-select stayed as they were, but all those that were meant to be Mono-select changed to Multi.
Any idea what went wrong?
We are at BI 4.2 SP2.

Thanks,
Isha

Hello,

The default is mono. This parameter is optional. There is no auto to update this. You have to physically update the @prompt. Do you have anyone other than you updating the universe?

Thanks,

Sonet

Hello.

Yes, there are others. But it's not rational for some-one to go and change all the mono-select prompts to multi-select for some ulterior motive, and least of all, by mistake. There are hundreds of parameters and prompts defined in our universe. I'm not inclined to think that someone intentionally went to each and every one of them and changed the behavior. There must be something else that went wrong during implementation. I would bet on a new SAP BO bug that went previously unnoticed. If not, then I'm truly stumped. 😞

Maybe if you can provide details on what happened exactly between "universe has mono prompts" to "universe has multi prompts" we will be able to provide some sort of an answer.
As stated - your deployment process has made the change.

This is what happens during the deployment process:

1. Bring the existing Production copy of universe to lower environment, which is mostly UAT

2. Make the new changes manually. In this case, there were few join changes and object definition changes

3. Publish the new changes in UAT

4. Deploy the updated UAT copy to Production

How is #1 done ?
Also, if universe is in Prod, why doesn't it already exist in UAT/DEV ?
How is #4 done ?
