DP BOM with SNP/PPDS PDS

Hi Gurus,

I know how to create saperate DP BOM with PPM with D . Can anyone help me step by step how to config DP BOM with PDS and also by using SNP/PPDS PDS?

Can any one explain me with transaction codes.Thanks in advance.

Hi Raj Kumar,

You can use the same characteristics in DP Bom for CVC creation.

How does the 9APPMNAME characteristic is going to fill when generating cvc from DP BOM PDS?

Just wanted to ask for DP BOM as we have components and finished products.

Do we need to have components history(Dependent demand) and as well as finish product history key figures(independent demand) ?

Dear Raj,

History Key Figure for Independent demand should be sufficient .

Because,

1. This "Independent demand History KF" will be used for Forecasting

2. The component history is just a derived figure from "Independent demand History KF "as per DP-PPM proportions.

Dear Raj,

On the "Maintain Planning Relevent Characteristics Combinations " ( t-code /SAPAPO/MC62) for an DP-BOM relevant MPOS, you will find "ADD BOM INFO" . On executing this and selecting the checkbox "Only edit comb without PPM/PDS" , result the necessary job to fill the CVC's,

So you mean to say that we need to have even dependent demand key figure but it is derived from independent demand history. is it correct.

My only questions is when we derived DP BOM do we need to have 2 history key figures

1,one for independent demand history for finished products and

2, second KF for components history?

Dear Raj,

WE require history KF for independent demand history of Finished Product only. This can be used for forecasting and the Finished good forecast will disaggregate into dependent demand as per DP-PPM proprtions.

The component demand is not required for forecasting , so it need not be stored in a different KF.

Thanks for your answer.let me ask you with example.

E.G. :

Lets take material ABC and i have independent demand at finished product level which is ABC level.

at DP BOM PPM

i will check input -A

Input-B

Input-c----

---

> for getting output product ABC and in order to run DP BOM

and i will take finished product history data at material ABC level in one key figure and other history key figure history data at

Input -A,B and C level.

so some one can explain me with the above example about DP BOM ?

Some further things that I can add.. there should be a separate KF for the dependent demand. The Key figure sematics of the independent demand and the dependent demand should be in a pair e.g. 501 and 401, etc.

I'm working with DP-BOM.

When I try to release the data from DP-BOM to SNP, the system gives me a message that's ok.

But when I access /SAPAPO/RRP3 the system doesn't create the documents for Forecast to the Material/Plant.

What do I need to do?

Hi Rajkumar,

1) The transaction used is /SAPAPO/CURTO_GEN_DP.

2) Enter the transaction

3) Select the nature of DP/PDS creation required

4) Enter model

5) Enter product

6) Enter location

7) Enter explosion date

😎 Enter qty

9) Select PDS usage whether SNP or PPDS

10) Choose source of supply

11) Execute.

The prerequisite is that the PPDS/SNP PDS needs to be generated before generating this structure.

Thanks for your response.In order to implement SAP APO DP BOM in Master planning object structure when we select DP BOM all the below listed characteristics 9AMATNR, 9ABOMID, 9ABOMIO, and 9APPMNAME will be displayed for DP BOM PPM .

My question is can we use the same characteristics for DP BOM PDS FOR cvc generation? or we don't need to select DP BPM in MPOS?
