Hi SAP-experts!
I am installing a SAP system on windows with Oracle (system copy) and am facing with the the following eror:
Instance created.
DIM-00019: create service error
O/S-Error: (OS 2) The system cannot find the file specified.
WARNING 2009-07-03 18:00:14.996
Execution of the command "E:\oracle\GDI\102\bin\oradim -NEW -SID GDI -STARTMODE manual -SRVCSTART system" finished with return code 14. Output:
Instance created.
DIM-00019: create service error
O/S-Error: (OS 2) The system cannot find the file specified.
When I try to start service u201EOracleServiceSIDu201C I get the error
The systen cannot find the file specified.
The path to the executable within service is: orant\bin\ORACLE.EXE <SID>
The questions are:
1) Which with software the service OracleService<SID> will be installed?
2) Why this service shows to orant\bin\ORACLE.EXE <SID instead of E:\oracle\GDI\102\bin\ORACLE.EXE <SID>?
2) Are there options only to deinstall oracle software completelly in order to start from scratch?
Any helpful information will be very appreciated

Hi
I think you should first check and delete your existing service and let sapinst create it for you.
which options do u choose while selecting the installation ... please confirm the path again.
And yes you can uninstall the oracle with Oracel Universal Installer(Same which you used for installing the oracle) goto Installed Application and then select your Oracel Home and click Remove.
But i think you should try deleting the service first. And do check the evn veriable for the current user(User you are using for installtion).
You can delete service with oradim(google it u will get the exact command) or windows command sc delete <service name>.
Check if you have oradim.exe in you bin folder. and access to this directory too.
Hope this might help.

Few things to check:
Is ORACLE_HOME env variable in place as E:\oracle\GDI\102?
E:\oracle\GDI\102\bin is added to path variable.
since its trying to refer as orant try adding an environment variable for orant as E:\oracle\GDI\102\ and see if it solves the issue
