SAP NW 7.01 SR3 ABAP Trial License

Former Member

Hi,

I have been successfully able to install this trial version of SAP onto my machine.

My problem however is in the application of the license file. I am able to install the license successfully through SLICENSE.

So everything works fine. However once I have shut down SAP and restarted my machine, the license file is gone from the installation. This means that a get an error when trying to logon, and have to apply the same license file again before I am able to continue.

The database appears to be restoring itself to a previous version. I tested this by making a change to one of the user's profiles. After restarting my machine, that user's profile had been restored to the original settings.

Has anyone perhaps encountered this problem?

Thanks,

Miguel

Hi,

strange, make sure that you check after installing the new license file, that both trafic lights are green.

The one for the license AND for the system.

Maybe delete old invalid licenses. Check both tabs, "old licenses" and "new licenses"

Hi Oliver, thank you for your response.

I have tried to install the license key, but It does not work.

- First of all, I was in SAP License Administration application. I logged on with user SAP*.

- There is no installed Licenses.

- I push the Button New License and there I see an old invalid License. Where this old license comes from, I do not know. But I am sure, it comes with SAP installation.

- I pushed the button 'Install' to install my new received license key from SAP.

- I get Error Message "Error while trying to get the system number from the old license key library"

- If I delete the old License or not, I will get the same error.

- In My license file, I have already changed the system number with my system number

- After Installation i do not find saplicense.exe

hm,

try user BCUSER, minisap in Client 001 and not SAP*, although it should be irrelevant. you cannot change system number, it is also encrypted. Thats why you have to delete old licenses and install new ones. And this should work - at least for me in the last 10 years :-). Otherwise you probably have to reinstall the system.

Hello Tanaka,

I experienced similar problems when trying to extend my trial license. I tried a number of things similiar to the ones that you mentioned. But it seems what really made a difference was to use the menu option to install temporary license. After that the new license row was entered, and the status light turned green. I was able to login using BCUSER. I am not positive that this was the problem (make sure you indicate that you clearly indicate the type of license that you are trying to install--temporary or permanent). However it did allow me to successful install my temporary license. Regards.
