Change order type (Alternate order type) using ORDCHG

We are in process of setting up orders05 and getting Purchase orders from our vendor and creating sales order in our system.

We determine our Sales Order type based on the priority they send. We have a scenario where when they send the PO first time had a lower priority and it creates a standard order .Later on they want to increase the priority ,which should make our order as Rush order .

Based on priority we want to use alternate order type functionality.

Just to add: We get the new order type in the Idoc segment for change.

Can you please let me know how to handle this situation where I can switch my order type in already created order via Idocs (OrdCHG/orders05) .Manually I can do this switch using VA02.

Hi

If you can do this in VA02 I believe you have made correct settings in VOV8 for alternative order type. If this can be done in VA02 it should be working fine using IDoc as well. What you need to do is ask your XI guy to put logic in XI to send information to ECC with order type of rush order in case of P2 or P(new) watever you are maintaining the priorities.

You need to tell system that this is high priority order and based on this XI should send rush order type in Idoc segment.
