Dear All,

we have a question concerning the SAP EHS Web-Interface, unfortunately we could not find any help in the net.

Our EHS Web-Interface (version 2.6) runs on a Windows 2008 server, which will be soon no longer supported by Microsoft.

For this reason, we would like to migrate the Application to a Windows 2012 R2 virtual server.

Does anybody know if the EHS Web-Interface v2.6 is compatible with Windows 2012 R2? Any special requirements/settings we should take into consideration when installing the application on the new server?

Many thanks in advance,

Debora

Hello Debora,

EHS Web interface 260 supports the following operating systems:
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (32 bit)
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (64 bit)
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (32 bit)
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (64 bit)
Microsoft Windows Server 2012 (64 bit)

You can find more information in SAP Note 1587886 which is the WebInterface Central note.

The note is in pilot release for WebInterface customers only.

Best Regards,

Camila

Dear All,

thanks for the answers, there are the related notes:

- the central note (1587886) - as mentioned by Camila, thanks!

- the note announcing the end of maintenance for the EHS Webportal as of 31.12.2016 (2020357)

So, for the Portal the new alternative solution offered by SAP is the mentioned SAP EHS Web Fiori App. On the marketplace I also found only the links shared by Mark.

As far as I know SAP is starting now with a few customers going live with the solution.

The Fiori App is available from Internet or Intranet and displaying data directly from the SAP backend and using oData Service.

Considering the end of maintenance we will most likely also start looking into possible alternatives.

Best regards,

Debora

Hi Debora,

Thanks for keeping as in the loop - highly appreciated!

The Fiori App is available from Internet or Intranet and displaying data directly from the SAP backend and using oData Service.

Is this accessable from the internet without the need to logon with some sort of SAP User? That would be quite good news!

Cheers

Mark

P.s.: I think you're original question has been answered - please mark the question as answered

Hello Debora,

I couldn't find anything either.
I would ask your SAP AE to get you this information from the SAP development team.

Kind Regards

Mark

P.s.: Are you aware that the WebInterface will not be available on S/4? Please see SAP Note 2221776

Hi Mark,

thanks for your reply and the help with the tags.

I'll get in contact with SAP directly to get the information.

I'm aware about the non availability of EHS Webportal on S/4. As a matter of fact, as alternative to the current EHS Web Portal, SAP offers the SAP EHS Web Fiori App.

Hi Debora,

If you do not mind:

Please add the information you get from SAP in regards to EHS Web Interface on Windows Server 2012 R2 - and mark it as correct answer.

I have not yet seen the "SAP EHS Web Fiori App" deployed. I would hope it is as flexible in designing as the web interface is, so that you can adjust it to your Corporate Identity.Kind Reagrds

Mark

P.s.: I would think the WebInterface should run - on Windows Server 2012 R2 - because the WWI Server can run on that as well.

Dear Mark

do you know to which SAP Solution Debora is referring too? I am not aware of a "follow up solution" of the Web Interface solution? Any hint here would be helpful Thanks

Hello Christoph,

The only official SAP solution to my knowledge that you can use to display SDS is the "Retrieve Safety Information" Fiori App as part of "SAP Fiori 1.0 for SAP EHS Management".

However it is not a real replacement for the WebInterface as you can use it only on premise / Intranet and therefore you can not make SDSs available to the general public anymore.

There's an SAP Service for setting up the "SAP EHSM Web-Interface". I'm not sure if this service is available for S4 as well, as this seems to be more or less the old solution. One of our clients has reported that you can not use this solution with non named users (Users without a valid SAP User / License) and therefore they can not use it to publish SDS on the Internet ...

So as far as I can see it there's nothing there to really replace the WebInterface Solution especially for the general public on the Web.

We are currently evaluating to build a new solution that allows you to display the SDSs in the Web for huge amounts (>> 1.000.000 SDS) for one of our customers. If you are interested please let me know.

Kind Regards

Mark

Dear Debora

not heard yet that SAP is deploying a successor using "SAP EHS Web Fiori". Do you have more information on that (e.g. links to SAP marketplace etc.)?

My inquiry was so far not sucessful (i found only http://help.sap.com/fiori_bs2013/helpdata/en/41/45a153b88e3543e10000000a44538d/content.htm?frameset=/en/9c/ce0c5378e0bc0ce10000000a4450e5/frameset.htm¤t_toc=/en/87/ad0d53d521fd52e10000000a4450e5/plain.htm&node_id=3)
