Does NWDI need to be at the same SPS level as the rest of the SAP Landscape

Hi SAPpers,

we are doing an upgrade project across our SAP landscape, moving the Java components in general from NW7.0 SPS15 to NW7.01 SP03, including for example, Portal, SLD, NWDI. etc

Now philosophical question,

if we for example move Portal and SLD from NW7.0 SPS15 to NW7.01 SP03, is it documented anywhere from SAP that there a Support Package Stack dependency for NWDI ?

does NWDI have any documented dependency to the Support Stack version of Portal and/or SLD ?

are forced to also apply the Support Stack to NWDI, or can we leave NWDI out ?

Thanks and kind regards,

Petr.

There are some weblogs, etc. here on SDN that address this topic (not sure if there's anything in the SAP Documentation). Basically, your NWDI release is independent of the runtime systems that you target. However, the SCA's imported into the tracks MUST match the release of the target runtime systems for that track.
