Sometimes in cases we create queries in Production .

Now there is a table in BW RSRREPDIR which contains the query information for all the queries in BW.

extract it in excel from the three systems and compare which is present where.

If query is only present in production then it was created in production..so forth.

Hi,

In General, Queries will be created in Dev Server only. and they will transport these queries into Quality Server for testing.

and then once Testing is done and if everything is OK, they will transport these queries to Production Server from the Dev Server.

No Creation of any Objects (Queries, infoobjecets, cubes..... etc) will be done in Production Server.

Hope you understand this.

My Dear Veerendra,

According to me it is possible create queries in production directly.

If we have authorization in Production we can directly create queries in production.

Any way in my case the users have authorization to create queries directly in production.

Now i want to identify the queries directly created in production and if they are not used for a long time we have to delete them.

So i would like to know if there is any procedure to find out the queries directly created in production.

Hi,

unfortunately there is no tool for that. So I think one way is to compare the content of table rszeltdir in both systems. Restrict the output on deftp = 'REP' and check the fields mapname and txtsh and txtlg. If you have the queries identified, check if they are assigned to a development class/packet in the productive system. If this is not the case, you have your candidates for deletion. You can then delete the queries using transaction rszdelete.

regards

Siggi

PS: you may run rszdelete anyways, as you can check a box there for temporary objects only (those will be the ones in question)

Hi Prem,

I thought that you do not have authorizations in the Production System to create Queries.

Yes, we can create the queries even in production also, if we have authorization to create, i agree for that.

Thanks,

Veerendra.
