Parameter prompting (Crystal Reports 2008)

Hello to the Forum.

I am new to Crystal Reports so please forgive me if this seems a little basic...

I have created some reports that I would like to distribute throughout selected users on our LAN. One of the reports requires the user to select parameters prior to the preview.

What is the recommended way of allowing a user to input into the parameters pop-up window but doesn't allow the user to see the design or layout of the report? (we do not have Crystal Reports Server available to use nor CR.com).

Is this something that is an available feature in CR2008 and would allow users to simply use the CR2008 Viewer? or is it more going down the line of incorporating the .rpt file into VB or similar
