Innacurate summary count

Hi everyone,

I am very very new to crystal reports and am just begining to understand things, so I apologize in advance for all of the basic questions I'm sure to ask. That being said...

I am trying to create what seems to me like a very simple report. One that lists the cost of several items and totals them up. I am able to pull all of the values out of the database and place them into the report without any problems, but on two out of the three items the counts are always wrong. The report lists the correct amount of items, but then if I add a summary count, the count is much different than what it really is. This count affects the totals when I try to add up all the numbers. Obviously I do not understand how the application is getting these wacky counts, there must be an explanation.

I'm not sure if any of that info is helpful without the report and database to go with it. If I need to add those to get help with this, please let me know.
