Hi,

For version SAP MDM 5.5 refer - www.service.sap.com/installmdm (Installation Guide)

For version SAP MDM 7.1 refer - www.service.sap.com/installmdm71 (Installation Guide)

MDIS and MDSS can be installed in the same path as your MDM server path i.e. " \Program Files\SAP MDM 5.5\"

Once you install MDIS and MDSS, you have to open MDIS.ini / MDSS.ini and enter the MDM server name or IP address.

This will connect MDIS/MDSS with your MDM server.

Let me knw if more information is required.

Regards.

Hi,

In MDSS.ini and MDIS.ini you need to specify Server = <MDM Server>.

For more information about configuration and entries in .ini files, refer the below path

Hi,

In order to create ready folders you need to create Remote systems and ports. This will automatically create ready and other folders in your server. For this do the following steps:

1) Open Console and navigate to remote systems in Admin Table. Create your Remote system as Inbound, Outbound or Inbound/Outbound.

2) Now open Ports table and create Port as Inbound or Outbound for your respective Remote system. The files associated with ports are stored in a shared file system location with a fixed directory structure beneath a configurable root. The root must be accessible to both MDM and its location is specified in the mds.ini file. The fixed directory structure beneath the root is as follows:

Inbound (MDM Import Manager)

root/DBMSinstance_DBMStype/RepositoryName/Inbound/ClientSystem/PortName/Ready

Outbound (MDM Syndicator)

root/DBMSinstance_DBMStype/RepositoryName/Outbound/ClientSystem/PortName/Ready

You need to specify the root in mds.ini file in Distribution root Dir parameter.

I hope I am able to solve your problem

Thanks & Regards

Hi,

When you install Import Server, it will create a directory with name Import Server under which you will find a file MDIS.ini which is the configuration file. Once done with the installation of Import Server, start its service from Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services.

Now check the file MDIS.ini file, there you will find some entries, check the first entry Server = <Server Name> with this we establish the link between MDM Server and Import Server. When you create inbound port in console under your repository this will create the folder with name PORT_CODE under the MDM Server installation directory\Server\Distributions\<ServerName_DBMS>\<RepositoryName>\Inbound\<Remote SystemName>\<Port Code>

Hi,

Refer to SAP Note 1249503 for installation.

Also, the installation guide has this information. you can find it at service.sap.com/installMDM --> MDM 7.1 installation guide.
