GR Posting period

Hi all ,

While trying to create GR I am having the following problem.

Posting only possible in periods 2009/07 and 2009/06 in company code GRSM

Message no. M7053

Diagnosis

The posting date entered is not within one of the permitted posting periods (current period/previous period).

This can be due to one of two reasons:

The correct current period has not been set in the system.

For the system, the first of the entered periods is the current period. At the beginning of a new period, your systems administrator must change the current period in the material master record, using the function "Shift periods". This has not yet been done.

You have entered a wrong date in the field "Posting date".

Procedure

Check the posting date and correct it if necessary. If your input is correct, inform your systems administrator that the "period shifting" (period-end closing) process has not yet been completed. Copied from M8022"

I have checked the posting period.It was 03/2009.

So from MMPV I haved shifted it to 07/2009 with back posting allowed.

Now when I am creating a GR with posting period 01/07/2009 or 01/06/2009 I am having the above problem.

Please help.

Got the setting for which the problem occured . It was the posting period variant

Hi

As per your system the current period is 2009/03 and the sytem is giving error message that 2009-07 and 2009/06 periods are the allowed posting period.

Please open your periods using transaction MMPV one by one. please donot open more than 07 period.

Please check the last three lines of my previous post .

I have already done the period check and close from MMPV , and the current period is 07/2009.

Please suggest what to do now.

Hi,

I think your Fiscal Year is 2010,

You need to close the period till 03 2010, then you can work for 07 2009.

Goto MMRV check the current period it might be 07 2009,

Then in MMPV execute for period till 03 2010 so that your current period June 2009 will be open for postings.

Check with your FI Consultant for this.

I am not getting you .How the fiscal year could be 2010 ? Could you please elaborate ? Actually It is training IDES server and unfortunately at this moment I don't have any FI person.

Hi,

This error is related to MM period. You can close the period in MMPV. Check the current period in MMRV or OMSY and close those periods in MMPV.

HI,

you are only allowed to post to the currect period and to the last period. You will not be able to post to period 03/2009 unless you open it, which is not recommended as it can lead to inconsistencies.

I am not posting to 03/2009 . I am posting to 06/2009 and 07/2009 .
