How does HANA allocate memory size to ROW store?

dear all

i am trying to figure out how the ROW STORE "Fixed Part - Allocated Size" gets worked out.

I create a table with a single column, and 10M records in each. The same exact data.

I change the data type to experiment. I can understand the use changing because the storage of data is done differently, but it is the "allocation", that i am questioning. I can see a pattern based upon the data type, but I would like to know the basic principle.
