Max DB/LiveCache regions

Former Member

Dear Forum,

May be someone already faced similar issue?

LC10/Database Analyser giving warning about high collision rate for the LC region: "LCAPPS AREA 1". I did check descriptions of all available regions in LC (http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/MaxDB/SAPMaxDBRegions) , but did not find any similar regions. Looks like these are not LOGQUEUE and not DATA related regions.

May be someone knows what LC parameters could have influence on reducing collusion rate for "LCAPPS AREA"-regions?

Thank you for help in advance.

Hi Alexey,

the warnings about high numbers of collisions on certain regions are usually not as severe as it may look like.

If you're facing performance issues with your liveCache, you are best advised to open a support message.

Without having a clear analysis and recommandation from the liveCache support, you really shouldn't change any parameters to get rid of the collisions.

The DBAnalyzer is in fact not that clever - it just uses made up thresholds to say "Hey DBA, please check whether this is a problem or not".

Hi Lars,

I thought about simple changes like adding more memory to CACHE_SIZE or increase number of MAXCPU/OMS_HEAP_COUNT to make better use of hardware capacities for macro parallel processing. DB Analyser do not give warnings about data and log collisions when I am increasing parallel degree for DP macro processing. I was analysing "LCAPPS AREA " - hopping I can improve performance here.

Alexey
