ESS and MSS "local" configuration

Hi All,

We want to configure ESS and MSS just for demonstration. We already installed the Portal but we don't have SLD to connect back end systems. Is there a way to create a "virtual" system in the System Landscape just for show the ESS and MSS screens?

We already deployed ESS and MSS business packages and assigned the roles to the user but we just see the menu structure with errors in the content, I think this is because we don't have a system configured. Is there a way to display the ESS and MSS screens if we don't configure a "remote" system?

If this is not possible, is there a way to "link" an Abap system to the portal directly without using the SLD?
