Any way to Integrate WBS with QM objects

Hi,

The business scenario is: Each WBS is an equipment which is not available in system of physically until it is settled to asset. We want before a WBS is settled to an asset it should go through QM route --> QM notification-> Inspection ->QM final approval.

Can we link any of Projects objects with QM objects?

The cost of QM will be borne by projects.

In case, if you are looking for quality inspection to be carried before the settlement check if you below process can be followed:

Set the user status as "Inspection ON" which triggers as notification to inspecting team to carry quality inspection. They can have PM notification created which has check lists. Once the inspection is completed, they set the WBS user status to "Inspection Done" (description). This user status only allows you to settle the object to asset where a all other status restrict for settlement.

Hi Pradeep,

This looks good. Will it be a QM notification or PM notification? I think notification per se both are same.

We would want Inspection cost to come to projects. can we account assign it to WBS?

And, What if they reset user status back to 'Inspection Not yet started' ? Will it auto reject/close the notification?

Hi,

Notifications are same. Notification type matter and its corresponding setting.

You can assign notification to WBS or NWA according to your requirement.

Cost against inspection can be either captured by FI costings (KB21N) or as suggest by fellow mate by creating workcenter and have assigned to NWA to book cost. In case of WBS you might end up using KB21N (CC + Act type) but for NWA you can use confirmation of activity.

Status-> Based on your need can restrict user going back to re initiating the inspection. If you want to restrict I suggest new inspection triggers on reset. But previous inspection might be closed manually. (Can check with your developer to make existing inspection close)

Note: Notification auto trigger based on status is not standard, you might need enhance in case if you need auto generation.

QM work center will have cost center and asset number is related to it and it go to asset accounting process. simply give the QM workcenter with costing Variants inside it to operations in Inspection plan
