MDM Registration in SLD

Hello All,

I need to register MDM system in my PI 7.1 SLD, so i need to know, i should be doing this by adding as Standalong system type option or can i also do it with SLDREG?

I did read a note # 1018839 regarding SLDREG and as per it.."The "receiving" SLD must be at least Release 7.0. If an old SLD (for example, Release 6.40) receives an "sldreg" data package, it writes the

following error to the SLD log: ERROR". So i think this also applies for MDM system?

So can anybody please advice..how exactly should i be doing this?

Just to update all...this is MDM 5.5 SP06 version.

Yes, you can use SLDREG as per the SAP note.

The note asks for the system on which SLD is running should be > 7.0, which is your PI.

I have used this function and it works fine.

Thanks for the updates, i did try to register with SLD, but it gives me error, when i do try to register it.

Just to brief up, wat i did--

1. I did copied 2 files namely sldreglib.so & sldreg from /exe of my PI system in /home/mdm/bin folder of my MDM server.

2. From here i tried to ran the sldreg command for configuring it, but here it give me error.

As per guide, it is saying to ran this command from (usr/sap/<SAPSID>/SYS/global (UNIX)), but how to do it from MDM server?

Can you please guide me on this?

Thanks for the information. That is adding system manually, i'm trying to register it through SLDREG.

Anyways, i have ran the SLDREG command for configuring the system in SLD, it also generated file slddest.cfg & slddest.cfg.key, along with sld.xml in all 3 servers namely MDS, MDIS & MDSS. But it has not created sld.log file, from where i can see the logs. (I dont know...why it has not )

While registering i did not got any errors, but still i'm unable to see my MDM system in SLD, do i need to do any setting from SLD point of view in SLD server, after running sldreg command?

Please let me know, if any more settings need to be done.

Hi,

Hopefully you have entered the MDM server parameters in MDS.ini file

SLD_REGISTRATION=True

After this restart the MDM server.

Refer - HowToRegisterMDM_SLD.pdf (If you need this file then send me your mail)

If you have already completed this steps then logon to your SLD server - http://<hostname>:50000/sld

Go to Administration and select Class Browser, In the structure tree on the left, select tabstrip u201CLDu201D and search

for MDM.

I'm following that document only and have done all the configurations, as mentioned in it, still i'm not able to see my MDM system in SLD.

Are there any settings to be done in SLD related with slddest.cfg & slddest.cfg.key files??

I could solve the problem, by registering system again through proper SLDREG command.

Hello Friend

After registering SLD by using sapinst , I am able to see the MDM in SLD

select Content Maintenance.

Select All with Instances and

then for example Class MDM

Import Server

But technical system is not yet there. Do we need to create the technical sysetm in SLD manually ? If yes what type we should use.. ABAP , java or any thing else?
