How to resize of a log volume

Hi,

I have a problem with our Content server which is on maxdb. I have opened a OSS message and got this reply.

>1) look in your entire filesystem whether you are able to locate

>DISKL0002. If you do, make sure to confirm the file size (50MB)

>and the timestamp (2009-06-16 ~ 19:43:29).

>If you find the file, than copy it to /sapdb/data/wrk and attempt to start the database.

I tried to search but this file is not available now

>2) if you are unable to find DISKL0002 you might copy the old log

>volume located in /sapdb/SDB/saplog/DISKL001 to /sapdb/data/wrk and rename it to DISKL0002. >Resize it to 50MB. Connect to the database, bring it to ADMIN state and execute

>o util_connect

>o util_execute clear log

>Afterwards attempt to start the database.

I have checked log file DISKL001 and it is around 1GB. So i am not sure now how to procced. If i simply copy the file it will be 1GB then how can i make i it 50MB
