Hi Experts,
In PA, there are infotypes called: Leave Entitlement and Absense Quota. I would like to know the difference of them.
For example, if an employee entitled 30 days annual leave. I can use Leave Entitlement, define a leave type 'Annual Leave' and assign 30 days. Or I can use Absense Quota to define an absense type 'Annual Leave' too. Am I correct?
If so, what should be my consideration to use Leave Entitlement or Absense Quota.

Quotas IT2006 Stores the Quota wich the Employee is eligible
from that Quotas the Absence will get deducted
Can u let us know wht the IT for Leave Entitlement ??

Hi,
Absence quota is what you currently have in your account and you can use it any time as per company policies and entitlement is somthing that you earn by attending your duty and that earning is stored somewhere and alloted next year.
For example:
in most of the companies an employee is entitled to accumulate 1 privilege leave in his quota if he works for 11 days and he can use that quota after 1 year.
in this way PL entitlement is accumulated per 11 days and accured in the existing quota balance in the beginig of the new year (accrual period may differ for varios companies)

Leave Entilements and Absence Quotas are same , but now a days leave entilements infotype is not used and even its not active after ecc 5.0 Version.
So try understand the funda of Absence Quotas dont bother about this Leave Entitlements, Still if you want know about Leave Entitlements then for credtin Quota we need to run some standard quota for i not sure its correct or wrong check out this report rptconleav.
You can maintain an employeeu2019s leave entitlement in infotype 0005.
Note: The new functions available for automatic quota accrual in the Absence Quotas infotype (2006) constitute a considerably more efficient tool for accruing and administrating absence entitlements.
The Leave Entitlement infotype can be used to store information on an employeeu2019s leave entitlement over a certain period of time as stipulated in the work contract, and any entitlement the employee may have to relocation leave, leave for education and training, and so on.
Infotype 0005 also provides information on an employeeu2019s remaining leave.
