Upgrading to SAP Business One 2007

Sorry, but after being reinsured that my installation of SQl Server 2005 went fine I now run into the next issues with the actual B1 upgrade.

We currently run 2005 A. I received the package from our VAR and now wanted to follow the instructions to upgrade.

1. re to the instructions I was supposed to run the program upgrade.exe; there is no such program in the whole package

2. I tried to run autorun.exe which starts but looks more like the initial install program

3.autorun.exe gives me the following message after it started: 'an outdated verion of MSSQL was detected'; as mentioned I installed SQL Server 2005

4. when I ignore this and just proceed with INSTALL, SERVER, SKIP I get to a screen that asks for the name of the server instance and the loin credentials; I am not able to logon to the server (in the Server Management Studo everything looks fine)

Maybe there is something wrong right from the beginning. Any hint is appreciated.

Thanks Olaf

Olaf,

What is your 2005 B1 database version? I believe you have to upgrade this DB to SQL Server 2005 first.

Thanks,

Gordon

Hi Olaf,

The package you got looks to me like an Installation package rather than an upgrade package. The installation package is not suitable to upgrade in an easy way, cause you'd have to de-install any prior B1 version.

I think I upgraded to SQL Server 2005 successfully.
