KMAT inside KMAT

Hi,

Is it possible to create a bom for KMAT material with a component as KMAT material type?

Coz I have to use batch determination for the component too.

KMATs are never produced using Batches, as far as i know i havent heared this concept.

In R/3 VC is used to meet configuration and production of customer specific configurable materials.

all the materials from sales order item level are unique and they can have KMATs under them , but this KMATs underneath are also relevant for specific customer and are planned individualy not in batch.

Do not mix this concept with batch management.

I dont think its feassible thorugh Verient configuration.

you need to check for other alternative or new dimension product like APO.

it is not possible in r/3. you may have to use SCM APO.

its Possible. but if you are using SAP CRM. it wont support multi level BOM explosion.there you will be in trouble.

hi you can have KMAT material as a component in the BOM of a KMAT material. MUltilevel configuration is possible in ECC. but can you explain your question clearly whats the relation between batches and Kmats.

My scenario is, lets say I have a sales order with certain characteristics based on customer reqt which fit in one batch for a material (fert) and this reqt needs to be communicated to the dependent reqt (assembly) during mrp and this dependent reqt assembly contains another raw materials. when we run mrp for that assmebly, customer information should get passed from semifinished to raw material for batch selection. is this possible in vc ?

Hi Reddy..,

As per my understanding... You are speaking about concept of Parent and Child configuration. This can be mapped in ECC 6.0 Variant configuration with Class type 300. but to do this once should be strong in using Dependency net (i.e: constraints). data has to flow from Parent KMAT to Child KMAT and vice versa.

then you can transfer dependent requirements from in your words fert to assembly to raw material.
