    Hi VJ:

Do you refer to vendor managed inventory?

VMI can be managed in different ways depending upon the industry. For which industry you want to set it up?

    Hi Vj

Consignment cycle in SAP nothing but VMI in theroy. In Vendor managed inventory : mainly we do it because we need to push ( company inventory over suppliers ) across supply chain management depending upon terms & condtion with vendor.

    Ex:

Vendor manged 100 stockr in your company for period of 1 month & you used only 80 stocks for that only your paying to him. here u saved cost of 20 stock by doing this consignment.

if u procured directly 100 stock & used 80 but 20 will be in your inventory. which is loss for your company.

    Hope this will clear VMI

    Cheers

    Badari
