Automatic copy of short text of material to long text in the prodorder

Hi,

My requirement when the production order is created, the long text(separate tab) should be automatically populated with the short text of material number given in the header.Is it possible in standard way? .If so pl suggest.

Hi all,

My client requirement is when ever production order gets created(background or manually),by default they want to have the Material Description short text in the order header long text.

Example:If I create Production order for Material A1235 (Star Coupling) and in the Short text I will get the description of the material A1235 i.e Star Coupling.They want to have the same description in the Order header Long text for particular Order Types.

Is this possible in standard way?

HI,

I faced same kind of situation in my project. Long texts can not be copied automatically.you have to ask an abaper to develop a code to copy the texts. and texts will not be stored directly in tables just like values.
