Changing of Valuation Class in Material Master

Dear Support,

There is need to change the Valuation Class of the Material although Transaction has happned

in that Material presently System is not allowing to change the Valuation Class of the Material.

If there is any Note or some other way So that I can able to Change the Valuation Class of the Material .

Its very helpful to me if there is a solution regarding this problem.

Hi,

Pre reqquisites for change the Valuation Class

1. clear all the open documents.( PR/PO/Resverations.......)

2. Nullify the stock .means stock should be issue some dummy cost centre.

now you can change the valuation classes.

Hi, I did it before.

1. You must first close/complete all the PO and Production Order.

2. You create another material that corresponds with the material you want to change the Valuation Class

3. And then you do Mat to Mat transfer (MVT 309) and transfer all the stock to the mirror material.

4. go to MM03 to change valuation class

5. once change, Mat to Mat transfer back.

Please also make sure you have done the OBYC for the new valuation class if there is new one.

Remove all the stock in MM, do change Val class, it will allow.

If u wants to change the valuation class in materail master, you have to delete all open documents like:

Reservations

PR's

PO's

GR's....etc.

One u will try to change the valuation class, system will give you the message, please see the errors.

Just click on icon of error, it will give u all the documents, which needs to be deleted before changing the valuation class.

As far as my knowledge goes you cannot change the valuation class if there is any user transaction present.

However there is a wayout which you can try.But this way is very much unethical.What you can try out is to change the table entry.Go to SE16N and enter table MBEW.here in the field BKLAS try to change the valuation class.But always remember that this process is very much unehical and standard SAP doesnot support this as this can have a huge FI impact.

Check if there any document exist for that material for eg. PR/PO and also check stock if it there then you have to cancel all these doc then only change in val class possible.
