PPM Project Authorizations for Read-only Access

Hello Everyone,

is there an authorization object that would allow the user to access any PPM project in the system in Read-only mode only when they are not staffed on the project?.

This user is not an admin user, so they should not have an authorization to change the project if they are not staffed on the project.

Regards,

Mohan

Hi Mohan,

You can achieve display of all projects(irrespective of staffing) using authorization object 'ACO_SUPER' where activity can be "Read" with object "DPO" for project and "DPT' for template.

Hi Mohan,

Your question is answered on read only access.

Please create a new discussion for the other question.

User who are staffed in a project gets edit authorization in the same project and not on other projects. Can you elaborate this further with an example in a new discussion.

Ravi

Hello Ravi,

Thank you. This authorization works well if someone needs a display access only.

How do we restrict team member from modifying the other projects if they are not staffed on it? We have a situation where a user is staffed on a project and the user gained the authorization to edit other projects, even though the user is not staffed.

Hi Mohan,

the authorization objects available in Project Management start with CPRO*, but they do not limit the projects you can display (or change); the user obtains display and change authorization by means of the authorization check via Access Control Lists that must be specified in the project itself.
