Dear Danny,

Yes, almost right. Follow the below steps:

1. Backup COMMON database

2. Backup Company database

3. Uninstall SAP Business One 2005 Server Tools, DIAPI, Server

Application, Client Application (If any)

4. Install SAP Business One 2007 Server Tools(approx 5 mins), DIAPI(approx 5 mins),

Server Application(approx 30 mins), Client Application (approx 10 mins)

5. Backup your databases on SQL Server 2005, in order to perform

upgrade

6. Run your SAP Business One 2007 Client Application, to upgrade

database

7. After which, you may continue to patch to your desired Patch Level again and run Client Application to upgrade database again.

Additional information to note down from SBO 2005 before beginning Upgrade

1. Note down User licenses allocation as sometimes user licenses may be unassigned from my experience. Also, check your number of licenses are correct. If not correct, reimport License File again.

2. User Authorization allocation. In SBO, for new functions or functions moved around in main menu, the default access for all user is "No Authorization", we have to allocate access.

3. User Addon allocation

a. Note down the Addons currently used by the company

4. Database login at Client Application, so that you set the same username

and password on new SQL Server Installation.

Hope it helps!

Warmest Regards,

Chinho

Hi Danny,

Use SQL server management studio (assuming you are on SQL 2005).

1) navigate to the database to be backed up and right click select tasks and select backup

2) In the general back up window ensure that backup is set to Full and select a disk desitination for it to back up to.

3) In the option tab ensure you select verify.

4) click OK and it will run the backup

because the SBO-Common database is set to Full recovery model by default i would run another back up of the transaction log. this would be a change to point 2 select Transaction Logs rather than full second time round.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi

YES the step you wrote is correct. But before performing an upgrade, do run SAP note 1000846 on the live database and also kindly test the upgrade on the test database first. If you face any queries in the test upgrade report it to SAP support.

When going from 2005 to 2007 version you need to download the Upgrade version.

For 2007A version, you need first upgrade to 2007A patch level 426and then to the latest version for DB consistency.

Only the Upgrade package has been validated by SAP for a change of version of SAP Business One.

Please note that further information regarding any Upgrades of SAP Business One can be found within the Accelerated Upgrade Program (B1AUP).

This is a comprehensive upgrade methodology created by SAP with the help and input of certain partners.

Please refer to http://service.sap.com/smb/sbo -> expand 'A-Z Index' and click on 'A-Z Snapshot'. Under topic 'A-C' click on Accelerated Upgrade Program (B1AUP)

hope it helps,

Dear Danny,

It is most advisable that you uninstall everything then start the Upgrade installation. DIAPI, Addons or Service Manager may have compatibility issues if you don't.

Hope it helps!
