Delivery for item not maintained in batches

Hi Everybody,

We have certain materials which are not managed in batches. Stock for the item can be maintained in two different storage locations say STG1 and STG2. But the default picking location is STG1. At this point of time stock exists in STG2.

We irecieve an order for the item. All our deliveries are created in batch run. So the system creates a delivery in the nightly job. Since the defualt storage location is STG1 and there is no stock in STG1, a delivery of 0 quantity is created. The system does not automatically pcik up the STG2 storage location or for that matter any other storage location where stock is available. To stop the 0 quantity deliveries from getting created, I have made the change to stop it from getting created in the delivery item category.

However, this wont solve my problem as there would be no delivery created until and unless we transfer the stock from STG2 to STG1 (default). This does not work in our process as we have batch runs and we want the delivery to auto determine the storage location where stock is available.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks & Regards,

Vidya
