We used to see a Crystal reports icon in excel spreadsheet , using that we could use excel file as one of tata sources to create crystal reports, When we upgraded from CR9 to CR11.5 Release 2, We do not see this Add-In in Excel.

I also tried to use data source Access/Excel(DAO) , that does not work either(does not show wxcel 2003 also when file is selected it just shows "Add Command" instead of fields)

Is there any way to get Crystal Add-in to excel for verison 11.5 ? Or other way to use exel file as data source ?

Appreciate any suugestions.

Regards

When you use Access/Excel(DAO), choose the option of Excel 8.0 and see if you can use the spreadsheet as a data source. I use XI R1 and I have no issues using Excel 2003 spreadsheets as a datasource this way.

Thanks Sanjay

I tried using Excel 8.0, after I select file , it just shows "add command" under database, does not show any fields.

I also saving excel file as CSV/text/HTML & tried using database type text or XML etc.

One more try and if this doesnt work, I am afraid I have run out of ideas.

create a new connection, choose OLE DB (ADO) and choose Microsoft Jet 4.0 OLE DB Provider and choose the excel spreadsheet and Excel 8.0 and see if it works.

Something to try.... Right mouse on the Access/Excel (dao), choose 'Options'. Verify ' Tables' is checkmarked. then close -/Open+ Access/Excel again. It should show both Add Command and Sheet1$... etc.
