Advise from certified professionals

Hi,

I am planning to appear for SAP certified technology professional exam in 3 months. I have not started my preparation yet. I have over 7 yrs in BASIS administration.

I am not sure if this is right decision to appear for this exam or complete Technology associate exam and then appear for professional exam.

Certified professional, please advise based on your experience with the prerparation and effort.
