Is there a way to write to an Excel file?

Hi!

I'm using DS 3.1 and I want to write directly to an Excel file. I know that the Excel Workbook format is only for sources and not for targets, but the CSV format is not an option becuase my data has commas: The other problem is my users, they need the output in Excel files and they are not going to open the 100+ files I'm generating and use the Import Wizard if I decide to only generate flat files with a delimiter like the pipe or the tab.

So, please, do you have any ideas?

See you and thank you very much

Direkt load to Excel is not possible using Excel datasource. But you might check ODBC if it is possible for you to write to a xls file.

Hi!

I tried with the ODBC option, but after implementing several configurations, I get a series of errors like:

ODBC call <SQLDriverConnect> for data source <prueba_xls> failed: <[Microsoft][ODBC Excel Driver] The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '(unknown)'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.>. Notify Customer Support.

With the excel file created, without the excel file created, I get the same error. Obviously, since the Data Store only display functions, tables or templates, first I used a template. In a second attempt I imported the template so it was converted to a table, but I got the same error.

The name of the file is stored in the ODBC. I didn't find a way to put it in the Data Store definition.

Any more ideas guys? Thanks in advance.

See you and thank you very much
