Hello,
When in InfoView, double clicking a report: First the report is loaded, then the parameter can be set, then the report runs.
It's the very initial "report loading" process that takes sometimes up to a minute. Only a handful or reports (about 10) are published on the server. A Windows 2003 server, with 2 GB Memory. CPU load is very low.
Using the default Apache Tomcat web server.
Why does it take so long before a report is loaded and can be used? What steps do I need to take to optimize the process?
When the report is viewed a few times, then the loading of the report goes faster. But I refuse it needs to take 20 to 60 seconds for a freshly uploaded report to be initialized. Anyone an idea?
Hi,
what kind of data sources are you fetching your data from? Are any LOV attached to your prompts?

No LOV's. Databseserver is SQL Server 2005 Standard.
Basic report actually.
Please note that I'm mentioning the "pre-loading" of the report. So it's not fetching data yet. First it needs input from the user: e.g. a number between 0 and 50. After the number has been entered, the report runs at it's expected speed (fairly fast).
But before that happens...
Something isn't optimized somewhere but I have no clue where.
