Hi,
I'm kinda new to handling unit as well and was hoping for some help. I currently have no idea about handling units and don't have any help files and such. The process being currently followed is:
- A batch of material is created and is brought to a weighing scale.
- Weighing scale reads the weight and a "print" button is pressed on the scale.
- A Visual Basic Program listens to the weighing scale on the Comm port, performs string manipulation and sends the weight to SAP.
- A sticker is printed with the batch number and weight on it.
Now here is where the mess starts. Currently the entire manufacturing cycle in SAP is ABAPed. An ABAP program reads in the weight sent from the VB program, tare weight is subtracted and the batch is temporarily stored in Z table. At the end of a production shift, another ABAP program is executed which then uploads the data in the temporary table to SAP tables.
I was wondering if at least the weighing scenario, packing material and printing could be handled through HUM. Any comments/suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
-Z-
Hi,
I think the best way to understand in SAP help file.
If you will read only 3 pages step by step, you can understand the complete process of HU.
