A specially crafted package installation was created to install specific .dll files. One specific .dll file is not installing and reinstallation gives the following error:
"Module C:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\Common\3.5\bin\WebReporting.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147024769. Contact your support personnel" and the options are: Exit installation, Try Again and Continue.
We are utlizing Crystal Report XI Release2 SP2 Runtime Package.
In our VS.Net 2005 deployment project, the input is "CrystalReports11_5_NET_2005.msm" merge modules from Crystal Reports, the output is "CrystalReportXI_R2_RunTime.msi". In the project's properties, we also specify the ProductCode from Crystal Reports. We tried to install this package on Windows Server 2008 (64 bits).

We installed the new package "Crystal Reports basic for Visual Studio .NET 2008 (version 10.5)" - CRRedist2008_x64.msi and Crystal Reports is working fine now. My next question is about the license for that package. Is it free since we already purchased Visual Studio .NET 2008 or we need to purchase some extra license when we want to install it on our production server

Not sure what you mean when you say:
"A specially crafted package installation was created to install specific .dll files"
But, if you are not using the merge modules for your deployment, we will not be able to help you out. To do a correct install - and the only one that I've ever been able to do successfully, you must use the msm files.
