BC_XMB is widely used for archiving XI messages.
However if you look into AOBJ, it is NOT an XML-based archiving object.
Could you gurus explain why?
Thanks!
Hello Linda,
The reloading of data is not supported in XML-based archiving, and the status Reloaded does not exist here .Please check this:http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7d/dcd0bda17ddf47a1a02e0d018b2a9d/frameset.htm

Thank you,

To archive XML messages, use the archiving object BC_XMB and use SAP_BC_XMB as the archiving infostructure. If you want to read the archive, the archiving infostructure must be activated.
Based on that assumtion then yes.

Hi Linda,
This is my understanding:
Though BC_XMB archives XML messages, BC_XMB itself is not an XML based archive object. Which means, the archive files created by BC_XMB is not in xml format, but in ADK format.
I feel so based on following reasons
1. SAP documentation mentions that an XML archive object does not make use of Archive Information system. (Refer to Link:[http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/6d/56a06a463411d189000000e8323d3a/frameset.htm] -> XML-Based Archiving - >Restrictions
But BC_XMB has infostructure SAP_BC_XMB, which means BC_XMB is not an xml based archive object.
2. SAP Documentation mentions 'You can recognize an XML archiving object by the indicator XML Archiving Object, which must be set in the detail screen of transaction AOBJ.', but BC_XMB does not have this indicator, as you mentioned.
Thanks,
Naveen
