Hello Experts.
Can I ask you or some one else on the forum few questions around copy control:
During copy control - There is always a routine at document from and to level. Later, we get copying requirements at item category level along with data VBRK or VBAK / VBRP or VBAP program. I would like to know the following:
1. What is the differance of copy control at Document From / To level and Item Category level. When to use what.
2. Why is Data VBRK / VBRP levels is at Item category level and not at level above? What happens to VBRK data if there are two item cateogires in the document and both have different routines? Which takes precedence.
3. What exactly is the diff between Copying requirements and VBRK / VBRP.
Appreciate detailed explanation.
Thanks,
ramesh
Hi Ramesh,
The copying requirements are rules or certain criteria that must be met before the
copy can take place. This example has the copying requirements set at 003 with
the description u201CHeader/dlv.-related.u201D
The data VBRK/VBRP field is used to split deliveries into more than one invoice, or
to group deliveries into a single invoice. This is useful, for example, if one invoice
should be created from a single delivery.

Hi Friend,
COPY REQUIREMENTS speficies certain requiremnts should be met before copy from one document to another
VBAK/VBRP specifies how to copy the data from the source to the document .
Let say an example,
If you are using the Copy control transaction VTFA copying from ORDER TO BILLING
COPY REQUIREMENT will allow you to check whether all the items in the sales order are complete or any thing rejected
Then while copying the data from the ORDER to BILLING, the VBAK/VBRP will check which data should be copied to Header and which to ITEM
Hope it is clear & lucid
Please revert if u need further help.
