WBTE and WBTI

Hi All

We´re trying to export our sites from our dev system and import them into qas using the WBTE and WBTI transactions.

With WBTI we get an error message that has to do with the way that SAP is trying to manage the addresses > internal error UPDATE_INSERT_ADDRESS ADDR_MAINTAIN.

1. At first I thought that it was because the address number of the site we are exporting already has been assigned to another object in the target system but I dont think this is the case.

2. Could it be that we first have to ALE the corresponding site customer and vendor data to the target client?

Any help will be appreciated

herman

Hi

Export and Import is not really the reccomended standard way

You should

- Transport the site down to QAT system via regular transports

- Add the customer (and some retail tables) via the standard ALE distribution

- Add the vendor via ALE distribution if existing

Then it will work

Hi,

Until Release 4.6C, it was not possible to distribute customer and vendor data of a site via the corresponding ALE scenarios.

The reason for this is data that is equally valid for Site, Customer and Vendor, which is only maintained once in the site master and is sent to all the relevant objects.

As of Release 4.6C, site can be distributed via ALE/IMG distribution. Owing to the technical structure of sites, the ALE distribution of site data is comprised of IMG transports of Customizing data and ALE distribution of the application data.

You can import the Customizing of a site into the target system via IMG transport at any time. When the site master is connected to the transport, the relevant objects are automatically placed in a transport order. This always happens if site data, valuation area data, or address data are changed in the site master, or Customizing settings are copied from a reference site.

In order for transport orders to be created, the automatic transport connection of the client must be active (Transaction SCC4 and so on).

When data is saved in the site master, these changes are detected and a corresponding transport order is triggered. The transport order can also be requested here if there is no corresponding order. If corresponding orders already exist, these appear in a selection dialog box. This means that several objects can be contained in such an order that are not necessarily part of the site.

This transfer order can then be transported into the target system using the corresponding transport tools of the IMG.

Customer and vendor data of a site is distributed to the target system via the relevant ALE distribution. The system checks whether the customer or vendor is also assigned to the corresponding site in the target system. If this is not the case, ALE distribution terminates with an error because the site, customer and vendor are not consistent in the target system.

Retail-specific data of the site is also distributed with the customer master (departments, material groups, and so on). The system also carries out plausibility checks for this data according to the dialog box.
