Business Partner : classification and numbering

Hi experts,

I'm working with CRM 7.0 and I have some questions to customizing business partners.

Where can I define the number ranges according to the business partner roles?

Where can I assign the classification (consumer, employee, potential customer) to the business partner roles?

Thanks a lot in advance

Werner

    Hi Werner

I hope I'm answering this under the right context.

SAP Standard delivery of BP maintenance via the WEB UI excludes (Oddly) the maintenance fields for Role & BP Number Assignment.

Take a look at Best Practice Building Block C04, towards the back of the document it explains how to add the fields you're looking for into the WEB UI so that you can select them when creating a new BP.

I hope this is what you're looking for.

    Good Luck

    Regards

    Arden

    Hi,

In CRM it is different than ECC, Grouping defines Number Ranges in SAP CRM.

    Example,

Assign Number range 1000 to 10000 to Grouping Customers, assume it is selected as internal number range.

So when you create a BP with Role Sold to Party, you also select Grouping as Customers and BP will be created with number 1000 and so on.

    Does it make sense?

    Thanks.

For Classification, when you are creating BP, go to Classification/Hours tab and classify it there according to your requirements.
