Table CKIS

Hi there,

In my environment, noticed table CKIS have rapid data growth. Thus, I would like to identify what transactions will update table CKIS. Besides, data from costing run(CK40N), may you please advise if there is other SAP transactions that updating this particular table. For instance, does cost calculation at Production order updates CKIS?

Hi,

CKIS table stores the cost estimate data - namely the itemisation data.

To avoid this table growing too large:

Say you execute a monthly calculation of all materials also for

raw materials. A raw material costing is only necessary if you want to

include e.g. transport costs in the raw material price via info record.

Two known possibilities to avoid a table entry for raw materials:

1. Set 'No costing' in the material master (transaction MM02 - view:

costing2). With that indicator, the material is excluded from the

selection and BOM explosion processes, so that no cost component split

will be created by the cost estimate. If the material is included in

another cost estimate as a component to be valuated, the valuation price

is determined through the valuation variant.

2 Exclude the raw materials (material type: ROH) from the costing in a

costing run.

The result also effects the tables CKIT, KEKO, KEPH, CKHS.

Table CKIS: Deletion

You are able to delete cost estimates with transaction CKR1

(Reorganization of Cost Estimates), alternatively you are able to

archive the cost estimates.

The following Archiving Objects apply to table CKIS:

Recommendation: Please schedule the archiving runs for table CKIS

regularly, if you are deciding not to delete this data.

HI,

This CKIS contains only data related with cost estimate. Thats all. The data will be increased according to the number materials included under the company code or plant. Production order cost calculation will not get updates on CKIS table.

To know the number of materials created in the recent past, you can use MARC or Mara table.
