Hi Forum,
Could you please explain me the PRACTICAL importance of SLD,
how SLD helps in scenarios during runtime,
Hi,
A few Runtime Involvement of SLD.
1) In a Proxy Scenario.
When there is a sender proxy SLD provides the Name of the sender business system at runtime. In other scenarios this is provided by the adapter. However as proxy has adapter less communication, SLD has to provide the business system.
2) Also the connection information (i.e. the target host, port) of adapter engine and Integration engine is stored in SLD. Hence during runtime when the message flows from adapter engine to Integration engine or vice versa the target components address is provided by SLD.

Milan Thaker.

Hi
-->SLD acts like a Central repository which holds information about the systems which are in the same Landscape.SLD is like Directory.
-->so in SLD we need to maintain the physical and Logical details of the systems. For that you need to create the Technical systems and business systems.
-->If the system is third party then we need create the TS and BS as THIRD PARTY.
-->If the systems are ABAP then we go for WEB AS ABAP.
Thanks

HI,
SLD Consists of the systems which are present in the Client Landscape and the software components available on these systems.
In SLD the systems would be defined in terms of Business and Technical sytems.A Technical system captures the exact physical location of the system in the landscape.
The Business systems are imported in to ID while configuring the scenario. The Software components are importe in to IR to define the DT,MT,MI, MM and IM.
Thanks,
Kiran.
