Using Process Chain in SAP APO-DP

Dear Friends,

Can anyone pls guide me how exactly we can configure ' Mailing Object' in process chains,

i.e Before start and the end of the process chain respective person should be informed

by e-mail with message

Hi ved123,

Use transaction RSPCM, there is separate option avalable for configuring automatic notification where in you need to specify the variants, and enter the receipent list and save it.

Hi Ved,

Below is the procedure to generate alert emails/pager message/sms from Process chains.

1. Run transaction RSPC, right click on the step and select Create Message.

2. Give a meaningful description (like Process_Start)

3. Click on Edit document. Enter Title and Document content. Title would be the subject line of email alert Document content will be the content of the message

4. Save. Go back. Click on recipient. Enter Email address or Pager or mobile number.

5. Save. Now the Process step will have an attachment displayed wich ensures a message is created.

6. Run transaction SCOT. On the SMTP node, give the email address.

7. Note: Unless the recipients are maintained in SCOT, the process chain messages cannot be sent. SCOT settings will be done by BASIS.

8. You can schedule a job from SCOT to ensure the messages are delivered to the recipients at regular intervals.

9. A similar message can be created for Failure/Completion of a process chain step.

Hi,

I tried the below steps. In the Process chain, when i click on Create Message and give the Mobile no, it gives an error " is not a valid pager number".

Please let me know if there are any formats for this. Also by adding a mobile no. here, will this send an SMS to the number if chain fails or are there further configurations required.

Hi,

The best way to do this is use mailing list by alerts.

you need to keep track of mailing list also and SAP standard prefers it.
