Change of Depreciation Key

Dear All,

Our client wants to change the depreciation key during the financial year. Please arrange the procedure for the same.

Also, help me to explain the implication for the change of the depreciation key during the financial year.

Currently he has not run the depreciation from for jan'09 onwards (Fiscal Year is jan to dec), will the system considers the new rate even thou, we have changed today w.e.f. from 01.01.2009

No problem to do that. Especially if no depreciation is posed this year. There colud have been some adjustment if you change the key in the middle of the year (SAP calculates depreciation for entire year for some keys and then dividies evenly)

Go to AS02 change the key and save it . System will calculate the dep based on the new key assigned in the assets master.

You can do for few assets one by one and see the results and once you are satisfy you cando the mass change through LSMW or BDC.
