SPAM takes lot off time

Hi

I am updating the SPAM version 35on Solution manager system, before that I updated the kernel, tp and R3trans files to latest.

STMS setting are ok, RZ10 buffer parameters are updated.

Still to update SPAM version 35 it takes days. ( 10 mnts job)

What could be the problem?

Its performance related or STMS related problem?

Hi,

One more thing.

Goto STMS -> Truck Button -> Select your system -> Import Queue ( In menu ) -> Check -> Transport Tool

See if there are any crosses?

We had similar issue and we resolved after running the statistics for table D010INC and restarting the server.

Thanks for your suggestion and clue

I created statistic for all the tables and configured the STMS again.

SPAM completed within 5 mnts

Hi,

Just curious to know, if DB20 and Runstats would have done the same thing.

Can you please check the note.

Note 534729 - Oracle errors due to network problems

Do you have distrubuted env(DB on one host and CI on other host.)

sapmnt\trans\tmp\SAPKKD70035.AGS is already in use (860),

Rename the folder tmp or delete the tmp directory content and retry the installation

Please wait for the import to complete and monitor the log is getting updated in the usr/sap/trans/tmp directory.

Please check how many active cpu you have .

Hi,

Firstly,

Make sure that there is enough space in the transport directory (size of the OCS files multiplied by 2) (use Transaction AL11 to see the profile parameter DIR_TRANS or use Transaction SE38 and the report program RSPARAM). It is particularly important that there is enough space in the subdirectories trans/EPS/in and trans/data.

Secondly,

Did you put any files in the usr\sap\trans\tmp directory that were not suppose to be there. The only files that should be there are AMODPROT., CMODACT., and RADDBDIF.*. If there are any others

you need to move them to another directory.

Thirdly,

Please mention the step at which the SPAM update gets stuck or takes a lot of time.

Delete that entry and retry the SPAM update

I have done this before on my test server and it worked.

Note:Think twice before doing this

DID you check that you have enouf backgroung processes and dialog process.

Please dont delete any entry while you are applying Support pack.

I stoped the SPAM update and then removed the entry.
