Same report and universe give different result in XI R2 and XI R3

Hi all,

Has any one of you encountered such problem before?

In my case, I originally developed the universe and reports on XIR3 and then I was told that the upgrade of production (XIR2) will be delayed. Therefore I moved XIR2 testing environment and developed the universe and reports (yes, start everything from the beginning as BO does not support downgrade migration).

However, I found the same queries which are working in XI R3 are not working in XIR2.

To verify my observation and make sure I didn't do anything wrong in universe and reports, I migrated the objects from XIR2 testing environment to XIR3 again and found things working in XIR3!

What I am trying to display in report is quite complicated to describe and example here.

Simply, I have a table to store monthly sales information.

In the report, it contains a crosstab, which consolidates the sales information of every year's last/latest month and annual information.

So, I built 2 queries, query A retrieved every year's last/latest month sales information only and query B retreived summary information of every year.

It seems working in XIR3 but in XIR2, the columns from query B become blank.

Any one has similar experience during migration or in the report development?

Thanks and Regards,

Cherry

Hi Subhodeep,

Yes, and they are all the same in the Query Mode.

So you confirm that "View SQL" shows the same SQL statements genereated in XI R2 and XI R3.

What patch level is XI R2 and XI 3.x at?

Should be

- XI R2: 11.5.3.4175

- XI R3: 12.1.0.882

Thanks.

Your XIR2 is at SP1 patch level. There have been few defects and bugs that've been fixed in subsequent Service Packs. It is best advised to move to the latest patch available (i.e. SP 5, FP 5.4)
