scenario

Dear Experts,

Our client has following scenario.

Please help to track it.

Threre are two types of material.

Finished good say FG

Raw Material say ROH

For 1 kg of FG we need 1 kg of ROH.

But,

ROH is purchased in the lots of 2 kg, 2.5 kg. and we have to directly use these lots in production.

For Example,

FOR 100 kg of FG we need 100 kg of ROH but it may be

50 lots of 2 kg OR

40 lots of 2.5 kg

Now we want lotwise availability cheks in MRP then how to mentain the BOM.

we have mentained base unit of ROH as kg therefore the system tells us for 100 kg u require 100 kg of ROH. but the system does not tell us which lots are available and which lots should be used for production.

Can this be mapped in SAP.

Thanks.

Dear S.J,

thats what i written , you can made alternate unit of measure for purchasing as a "LOT" which will be equal to 2 Kg Or 2.5 Kg.

In your BOM the unit of measure for Rawa material will be Kg only.

So as soon as there is shortage of supply , Your purchase person will creat PO and in this PO will have unit of measure LOT, but when ever good is supplied to your plant and you will do GR for PO, in your system quantity available will be shown in Kg.

another thing you can do is , maintain unit of measure for Raw as a LOT. and for every Fert in Bom it will require 1/2 Ram with Unit Lot.

Check it and reply

dear s j ,

even though you maintain different unit of measures for puirchasing and production , while checking stock it will always gives in production unit ie. Kg.

can you tell me why do you want to check stock in Purchase unit of measure.....?

when ever stock is less then demand , and you will creat purchase order it will be created in Boxes or your aternative unit of measure
