HELP: Batch for serial number differs from document batch

hello sap mm gurus/friends,

i am getting this error message upon goods receiving a particular material that is currently batch managed:

"Batch serial number 703001 (0000009933) differs from document batch 00000020823."

i verified in IQ03 that both the serial number 703001 and the batch number 0000009933 exist.

batch number 0000009933 can also be seen in BMBC (batch information cockpit) and MMBE, while the latter batch number 00000020823 is not.

i think the system triggers this error message upon attempting to post a GR with batch number 00000020823 / or any batch number.

could you help me resolve the error message? why am i getting this?

Hi

Pl.check whether you mentioned serial/batch no 00000020823 in purchase order itself. This may causes problem when you try to give another batach/serial no in GRo
